TheRSSautomaticallyturnson
whenthegearshiftleverisplacedin
R(Reverse)andtheignitionisON.
AnRSScontrolallowsthedriverto
turntheRSSonandoff.Toturnthe
RSSoff,theignitionmustbeON,
andthegearselectorinR(Reverse).
Anindicatorlightonthecontrolwill
illuminatewhenthesystemisturnedoff.Iftheindicatorlightilluminates
whentheRSSisnotturnedoff,itmayindicateafailureintheRSS.The
RSSwillremainoffuntileithertheRSScontrolispushedagainorthe
ignitionswitchisrecycled.
KeeptheRSSsensors(locatedontherearbumper/fascia)free
fromsnow,iceandlargeaccumulationsofdirt(donotcleanthe
sensorswithsharpobjects).Ifthesensorsarecovered,itwill
affecttheaccuracyoftheRSS.
Ifyourvehiclesustainsdamagetotherearbumper/fascia,leaving
itmisalignedorbent,thesensingzonemaybealteredcausing
inaccuratemeasurementofobstaclesorfalsealarms.
FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE (4WD) OPERATION  (IF EQUIPPED)
Forimportantinformationregardingsafeoperationofthistype
ofvehicle,seePreparingtodriveyourvehicleinthischapter.
Four–wheeldrive(4WD)suppliespowertoallfourwheels.4WDshould
notbeoperatedondrypavement;drivelinedamagemayoccur.
IfequippedwiththeElectronicShift4WDSystem,and4WDLow
isselectedwhilethevehicleismovingabove3mph(5km/h),the
4WDsystemwillnotengagepast4WDHigh.Thisisnormaland
shouldbenoreasonforconcern.RefertoShiftingto/from4L(4WD
Low)forproperoperation.
