Instead,graduallydecreaseyourspeed.Holdthesteeringwheelfirmly
andslowlymovetoasafeplaceonthesideoftheroad.
Note:Ifyourvehicleisequippedwiththetirepressuremonitoring
system(TPMS),theindicatorlightwillilluminatewhenthesparetireis
inuse.Torestorethefullfunctionalityofthemonitoringsystem,allroad
wheelsequippedwithtirepressuremonitoringsensorsmustbemounted
onthevehicle.
IfyourvehicleisequippedwithTPMS,haveaflatservicedbyan
authorizeddealerinordertopreventdamagetotheTPMSsensors,refer
toTirePressureMonitoringSystem(TPMS)intheTires,Wheelsand
Loadingchapter.
Theuseoftiresealantsmaydamageyourtires.Theuseoftire
sealantsmayalsodamageyourTirePressureMonitoringSystem
andshouldnotbeused.
RefertoTirePressureMonitoringSystem(TPMS)inthe
Tires,WheelsandLoadingchapterforimportantinformation.
Ifthetirepressuremonitorsensorbecomesdamaged,itwillnolonger
function.
Dissimilar spare tire/wheel information
Failuretofollowtheseguidelinescouldresultinanincreased
riskoflossofvehiclecontrol,injuryordeath.
Ifyouhaveadissimilarsparetire/wheel,thenitisintendedfor
temporaryuseonly.Thismeansthatifyouneedtouseit,youshould
replaceitassoonaspossiblewitharoadtire/wheelthatisthesamesize
andtypeastheroadtiresandwheelsthatwereoriginallyprovidedby
Ford.Ifthedissimilarsparetireorwheelisdamaged,itshouldbe
replacedratherthanrepaired.
