2. Place the hand-held transmitter 1 to 3 in (3 to 8 cm)
from the HomeLink buttons while keeping the EVIC
displayinview.
BeforeYouBegin
If you have not trained any of the HomeLink buttons,
eraseallchannelsbeforeyoubegintraining.
Foroptimaltraining,pointthebatteryendofthehand-
heldtransmitterawayfromtheHomeLink.

Todothis,pressandholdthetwooutsidebuttonsforup
to 20 seconds. The EVIC will display “CLEARING
CHANNELS.”ReleasethebuttonswhentheEVICmes-
sagestates“CHANNELSCLEARED.”
3. Simultaneously, press and hold both the chosen
HomeLinkbuttonandthehand-heldtransmitterbutton
until the EVIC display changes from “CHANNEL #
TRAINING”to“CHANNEL#TRAINED.”
It is recommended that a new battery be placed in the
hand-held transmitter of the device being programmed
to HomeLink for more efficient training and accurate
transmissionoftheradio-frequencysignal.
ThenreleaseboththeHomeLinkandhand-heldtrans-
mitterbuttons.
If the EVIC display states “DID NOT TRAIN” repeat
Step3.Ifthesignalistooweak,replacethebatteryinthe
originalhand-heldtransmitter.
Your vehicle should be parked outside of the garage
whiletraining.

Itmaytakeupto30seconds,orlonger,inrarecases.The
garagedoormayopenandclosewhileyoutrain.
