THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE

NOTE: None of the courtesy lights will operate if the
dimmer control is in the “defeat” position (extreme
downward position), unless the overhead map/reading
lightsareturnedonmanually.
IfsomethinghastriggeredtheVehicleSecurityAlarmin
yourabsence,thehornwillsoundthreetimeswhenyou
disarmtheVehicleSecurityAlarm.Checkthevehiclefor
tampering.
REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE)
ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM
The courtesy lights will turn on when you use the
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter or open any
door.
TheRKEsystemallowsyoutolockorunlockthedoors,
open the trunk, or activate the Panic Alarm from dis-
tancesuptoapproximately66ft(20m)usingahandheld
radio RKE transmitter with integrated key. The RKE
transmitterneednotbepointedatthevehicletoactivate
thesystem.
This feature also turns on the approach lighting in the
outsidemirrors(ifequipped).Referto“OutsideMirrors
withTurnSignalandApproachLighting–IfEquipped”
under“Mirrors”inSection3.
NOTE: Inserting the RKE transmitter with integrated
key into the ignition switch disables all buttons on that
RKEtransmitter;however,thebuttonsontheremaining
RKE transmitters will continue to work. Driving at
speeds 5 mph (8 km/h) and above disables all RKE
transmitterbuttonsforallRKEtransmitters.
Thelightswillfadetooffafterabout30secondsorthey
will immediately fade to off once the ignition switch is
turnedONfromtheLOCKposition.
