The light also will turn on when the parking brake is
appliedwiththeignitionswitchintheONposition.
Thegaugepointerwilllikelyindicateahighertempera-
turewhendrivinginhotweather,upmountaingrades,
or when towing a trailer. It should not be allowed to
exceedtheupperlimitsofthenormaloperatingrange.
NOTE: Thislightshowsonlythattheparkingbrakeis
applied.Itdoesnotshowthedegreeofbrakeapplication.

ElectronicStabilityProgram(ESP)/Traction
CAUTION!
ControlSystem(TCS)IndicatorLight—IfEquipped
If this indicator light flashes during accelera-
tion, ease up on the accelerator and apply as
littlethrottleaspossible.Adaptyourspeedand
drivingtotheprevailingroadconditions,and
donotswitchofftheElectronicStabilityProgram(ESP).
Driving with a hot engine cooling system could
damageyourvehicle.Ifthetemperaturegaugereads
“H,”pulloverandstopthevehicle.Idlethevehicle
withtheairconditionerturnedoffuntilthepointer
drops back into the normal range. If the pointer
remainsonthe“H,”andyouhearcontinuouschimes,
turntheengineOFFimmediatelyandcallforservice.
14.
TemperatureGauge
The temperature gauge shows engine coolant tempera-
ture.Anyreadingwithinthenormalrangeindicatesthat
theenginecoolingsystemisoperatingsatisfactorily.
