Wear eye protection and remove any metal jewelry
jump-start positive battery post (+) in the engine com-
partment.Connecttheotherendofthesamecabletothe
positive terminal of the booster battery. Refer to the
followingillustrationforjump-startingconnections.

When boost is provided by a battery in another
vehicle,parkthatvehiclewithinboostercablereach,but
donotallowthevehiclestotouchoneanother.
6. Connecttheothercable,firsttothenegativeterminal
oftheboosterbatteryandthentotheengineground(-)
of the vehicle with the discharged battery. Make sure
youhaveagoodcontactontheengineground.Referto
thefollowingillustrationforjump-startingconnections.

Do not permit vehicles to touch each other as this
could establish a ground connection and personal
injurycouldresult.

Set the parking brake, place the automatic transmis-
sioninPARK,andturntheignitionswitchtotheLOCK
positiononbothvehicles.
