THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR  VEHICLE

with your seat belt to restrain you properly. In
some collisions, the airbags won’t deploy at all.
Alwayswearyourseatbeltseventhoughyouhave
airbags.
Beingtooclosetothesteeringwheelorinstrument
panelduringairbagdeploymentcouldcauseseri-
ousinjury.Airbagsneedroomtoinflate.Sitback,
comfortably extending your arms to reach the
steeringwheelorinstrumentpanel.
If the vehicle has supplemental side curtain air-
bagsand/orsupplementalfrontseat-mountedside
airbags,theyalsoneedroomtoinflate.Donotlean
against the door or window. Sit upright in the
centeroftheseat.

Youshouldreadtheinstructionsprovidedwithyour
childrestrainttomakesurethatyouareusingitproperly.

Alloccupantsshouldusetheirseatbeltsproperly.
Thedriverandfrontpassengerseatsshouldbemoved
backasfaraspracticaltoallowtheairbagstimetoinflate.

Ifyourvehiclehassupplementalsidecurtainairbags
and/or supplemental front seat-mounted side airbags,
do not lean against the door, as the airbags will inflate
forcefullyintothespacebetweenyouandthedoor.
