Manylightswillilluminatewhenyoustartyourvehicletomakesurethe
bulbswork.Ifanylightremainsonafterstartingthevehicle,refertothe
respectivesystemwarninglightforadditionalinformation.
Serviceenginesoon:Theservice
enginesoonindicatorlight
illuminateswhentheignitionisfirst
turnedtotheonpositiontocheck
thebulbandtoindicatewhetherthevehicleisreadyfor
inspection/maintenance(I/M)testing.Normally,theserviceenginesoon
lightwillstayonuntiltheengineiscranked,thenturnitselfoffifno
malfunctionsarepresent.However,ifafter15secondstheserviceengine
soonlightblinkseighttimes,itmeansthatthevehicleisnotreadyfor
I/Mtesting.SeetheReadinessforInspection/Maintenance(I/M)
testingintheMaintenanceandSpecificationschapter.
Solidilluminationaftertheengineisstartedindicatestheon-board
diagnosticssystem(OBD-II)hasdetectedamalfunction.Referto
On-boarddiagnostics(OBD-II)intheMaintenanceandSpecifications
chapter.Ifthelightisblinking,enginemisfireisoccurringwhichcould
damageyourcatalyticconverter.Driveinamoderatefashion(avoid
heavyaccelerationanddeceleration)andhaveyourvehicleserviced
immediatelybyyourauthorizeddealer.
WARNING:Underenginemisfireconditions,excessiveexhaust
temperaturescoulddamagethecatalyticconverter,thefuel
system,interiorfloorcoveringsorothervehiclecomponents,possibly
causingafire.
Checkfuelcapfillinlet(if
equipped):Illuminateswhenthe
fuelfillinletmaynotbeproperly
closed.Continueddrivingwiththis
lightonmaycausetheService
enginesoonwarninglighttocome
on,refertoEasyFuel“nocap”fuelsystemintheMaintenanceand
Specificationchapter.
