Placetireonendwithvalvestem
facingrearward,awayfromvehicle.

Placetetherintoboltholesin
wheelandattachlugnutusinglug
wrench.
3.
Laythetireonthegroundwiththevalvestemfacingdown.Ifyour
vehicleisequippedwithaluminumwheels,removethewheelornament.
4.
Slidethewheelpartiallyunderthevehicleandinstalltheretainer
throughthecenterofthewheel.
5.
Turnthejackhandleclockwiseuntilthetireisraisedtoitsoriginal
positionunderneaththevehicle.Theefforttoturnthejackhandle
increasessignificantlyasthetirecontactstheframe.Thesparetire
carrierwillratchetwhenthetireisinthefullystowedposition.The
sparetirecarrierhasabuilt-inratchetfeaturethatwillnotallowyouto
overtighten.Ifthesparetirecarrierratchetswithverylittleeffort,take
thevehicletoyourauthorizeddealerforassistanceatyourearliest
convenience.Ifyourvehicleisequippedwithatrailerhitch,guide
thetirewithonehand;keeptherearofthetiretilteddownuntil
thetireclearsthebumper.
6.
Checkthatthetireliesflatagainsttheframeassembly.Pushagainst
thetiretomakesureitistightlyseatedunderthevehicle.Loosenand
retighten,ifnecessary.Failuretoproperlystowthesparetiremayresult
infailureofthewinchcableandlossofthesparetire.(Makesurethat
thetiredoesnotcontactthebumper.)
7.
Repeatthistightnesscheckprocedure(everysixmonths,per
scheduledmaintenanceinformation),whenservicingthesparetire
pressureoratanytimethatthesparetireisdisturbedthroughserviceof
othercomponents.
