TheSafetyCanopysystemconsists

generatorconcealedbehindthe
headlinerandabovethedoors
(oneoneachsideofvehicle).

Aheadlinerdesignedtoflexopen
abovethesidedoorstoallowSafetyCanopydeployment.
Thesamewarninglight,electroniccontrolanddiagnosticunitasused
forthefrontairbags.

TwocrashsensorsmountedatlowerB-Pillar(oneoneachside).
TwocrashsensorslocatedattheC-pillarbehindthereardoors(one
oneachside).
•
Rolloversensorintherestraintscontrolmodule(RCM).
TheSafetyCanopysystem,incombinationwithsafetybelts,canhelp
reducetheriskofsevereinjuriesintheeventofasignificantsideimpact
collisionorrolloverevent.
Children12yearsoldandundershouldalwaysbeproperlyrestrainedin
thesecondorthirdrowseats.TheSafetyCanopywillnotinterferewith
childrenrestrainedusingaproperlyinstalledchildorboosterseat
becauseitisdesignedtoinflatedownwardfromtheheadlinerabovethe
doorsalongthesidewindowopening.
TheSafetyCanopysystemisdesignedtoactivewhenthevehicle
sustainslateraldecelerationsufficienttocausetheRCMtoinitiateSafety
Canopyinflationorwhenacertainlikelihoodofarollovereventis
detectedbytherolloversensor.
