Theseguidelinesaredesignedtopreventdamagetoyourvehicleafterit
ishooked-uptotheRVortowdolly.
Front-wheeldrive(FWD)vehiclescanbetowedwithallfourwheels
onthegroundorwiththefrontwheelsoffthegroundbyusingatow
dolly.Ifyouareusingatowdollyfollowtheinstructionsspecifiedbythe
equipmentprovider.Ifyouaretowingwithallfourwheelsontheground,
refertothetowinginstructionsbelow.
Four-wheeldrive(4WD)vehiclescanbetowedwithallfourwheels
onthegroundorwithallfourwheelsoffthegroundusingavehicle
transporttrailer.Donottowyour4WDvehiclewiththefront
wheelsofftheground(byusingatowdolly)andtherearwheels
ontheground;thiswillcausedamagetoyour4WDsystem.Ifyou
areusingavehicletransporttrailer,followtheinstructionspecifiedby
theequipmentprovider.Ifyouaretowingwithallfourwheelsonthe
ground,refertothetowinginstructionsbelow.
Ifyoutowyourvehiclewithallfourwheelsontheground:

Forvehiclesequippedwithanautomatictransmission,haveyour
transmissionfluidlevelcheckedbyanauthorizeddealer.Forthe
correcttransmissionfluidlevelwhenflattowing(allfourwheelson
theground),refertoTransmissionfluidintheMaintenanceand
Specificationschapter.

Releasetheparkingbrake.
PlacethetransmissionshiftleverinN(Neutral).
Placetheignitiontotheaccessoryposition(refertoStartinginthe
Drivingchapter).

Donotexceed65mph(105km/h)ifthevehicleisequippedwithan
automatictransmissionor70mph(113km/h)ifequippedwitha
manualtransmission.
•
Forvehiclesequippedwithanautomatictransmission,starttheengine
andallowittorunforfiveminutesatthebeginningofeachdayand
everysixhoursthereafter.Withtheenginerunningandyourfooton
thebrake,shiftintoD(Drive)andthenintoR(Reverse)before
shiftingbackintoN(Neutral).
