ForcedDownshifts
Togainaccelerationin
(Overdrive)orDrive(O/DOFF)when
passinganothervehicle,pushtheacceleratortothefloor.The
transmissionwilldownshifttotheappropriategear:fourth,third,second
orfirstgear.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION OPERATION (IF  EQUIPPED)
USING THE CLUTCH
Vehiclesequippedwithamanual
transmissionhaveastarterinterlock
thatpreventsstartingtheengine
unlesstheclutchpedalisfully
depressed.
Whenstartingavehiclewitha
manualtransmission:

Holddownthebrakepedal.
Depresstheclutchpedal.
PutthegearshiftleverinN
(Neutral).

Starttheengineandletitidleforafewseconds.
Putthegearshiftleverin1(First)orR(Reverse).

Releasetheclutchslowlywhilepressinggraduallydownonthe
acceleratorpedal.
