Fortowingtrailersupto907kg(2,000lb),useaweightcarryinghitch
andballwhichuniformlydistributesthetrailertongueloadsthroughthe
underbodystructure.Useaframe-mountedweightdistributinghitchfor
trailersover907kg(2,000lb).
Donotinstallasingleormulti-clamptypebumperhitch,orahitch
whichattachestotheaxle.Underbodymountedhitchesareacceptableif
theyareinstalledproperly.Followthetowinginstructionsofareputable
rentalagency.
Wheneveratrailerhitchandhardwareareremoved,makesureall
mountingholesintheunderbodyareproperlysealedtopreventnoxious
gasesorwaterfromentering.
Safetychains
Alwaysconnectthetrailerssafetychainstotheframeorhookretainers
ofthevehiclehitch.Toconnectthetrailerssafetychains,crossthe
chainsunderthetrailertongueandallowslackforturningcorners.
