Checkthefluidlevel.Refertothescheduledmaintenanceguideforthe
serviceintervalschedules.
Duringnormaloperation,thefluidlevelintheclutchreservoirshould
remainconstant.Ifthefluidleveldrops,refillthefluidleveltothestep
inthereservoir.
UseonlyaDOT3brakefluiddesignedtomeetFordspecification
ESA-M6C25–A.RefertoLubricantSpecificationsinthischapter.
Brakefluidistoxic.Ifbrakefluidcontactstheeyes,flusheyes
withrunningwaterfor15minutes.Seekmedicalattentionif
irritationpersists.Iftakeninternally,drinkwaterandinducevomiting.
Seekmedicalattentionimmediately.

Cleanthereservoircapbefore
removaltopreventdirtandwater
fromenteringthereservoir.
2.
Removecapandrubber
diaphragmfromreservoir.
3.
Addfluiduntilthelevelreaches
thestepinthereservoir.
4.
Reinstallrubberdiaphragmand
capontoreservoir.
TRANSMISSION FLUID
Checking automatic transmission fluid (if equipped)
Refertoyourscheduledmaintenanceguideforscheduledintervalsfor
fluidchecksandchanges.Yourtransmissiondoesnotconsumefluid.
However,thefluidlevelshouldbecheckedifthetransmissionisnot
workingproperly,i.e.,ifthetransmissionslipsorshiftsslowlyorifyou
noticesomesignoffluidleakage.
Automatictransmissionfluidexpandswhenwarmed.Toobtainan
accuratefluidcheck,drivethevehicleuntilitisatnormaloperating
