andanaccident.
Neutral position
Besuretoleavetheshiftleverin1orR
positionandsettheparkingbrake
whenleavingthevehicleunattended:
Otherwisethevehiclecouldmove
andcauseanaccident.
Theshiftpatternofthetransaxleis
conventional,asshown.
Depresstheclutchpedalallthewaydown
whileshifting;thenreleaseitslowly.
CAUTION
ØKeepyourfootofftheclutchpedal
exceptwhenshiftinggears.Also,
donotusetheclutchtoholdthe
vehicleonanupgrade.Ridingthe
clutchwillcauseneedlessclutch
wearanddamage.
Yourvehicleisequippedwithadeviceto
preventshiftingtoR(reverse)bymistake.
Pushtheshiftleverdownwardandshiftto
R.
ØMakesurethevehiclecomestoa
completestopbeforeshiftingtoR.
ShiftingtoRwhilethevehicleis
stillmovingmaydamagethe
transaxle.

IfshiftingtoRisdifficult,shiftbackinto
neutral,releasetheclutchpedal,andtry
again.
