PresstheTCSOFFswitchtoturnoffthe
TCS.TheTCSOFFindicatorlightwill
illuminate.
Thisindicatorlightstaysonforafew
secondswhentheignitionisswitched
ON.
ItalsoilluminateswhentheTCSOFF
switchispressedandTCSisswitchedoff.
RefertoTCSOFFSwitchonpage5-24.
Ifthelightremainsilluminatedandthe
TCSisnotswitchedoff,takeyourvehicle
toanAuthorizedMazdaDealer.TheTCS
mayhaveamalfunction.
PresstheswitchagaintoturntheTCS
backon.TheTCSOFFindicatorlight
willturnoff.

(3.7-liter

Ifthebatteryisdisconnected   orafuseis
replaced,theTCSwillbeinoperable.   When
thishappens, theTCSOFFindicatorlight
flashesandtheTCSindicatorlightilluminates.
ToreactivatetheTCS,performthefollowing
procedurewiththebatteryconnected.
WhenTCSisonandyouattempttofreethe

vehiclewhenitisstuck,ordriveitoutof
freshlyfallensnow,theTCSwillactivate.
Depressingtheaccelerator  willnot
increaseenginepowerandfreeingthe
vehiclemaybedifficult.Whenthishappens,
turnofftheTCS.

SwitchtheignitionON
(DSC-equipped vehicles)

Turnthesteeringclockwise  fully,thenturn
itcounterclockwise fully.
PresstheDSCOFFswitchtoturnoffthe
TCS(page5-26).
IftheTCSisoffwhentheengineisturned
off,itautomatically  activates whenthe
ignitionswitchisturnedon.
LeavingtheTCSonwillprovidethebest
traction.

MakesuretheTCSOFFindicatorlightand
TCSindicator lightturnoff.

IftheTCSindicator  lightandtheTCSOFF
indicatorlightremainilluminated  evenafter
switching theignitionON,attemptthe
procedureagain.Ifthisstilldoesnotwork,
consultanAuthorized  MazdaDealer.
