WhentheTCSdetectsdrivingwheel
slippage,itlowersenginetorqueand
operatesthebrakes topreventlossof
traction.

Thisindicatorlightstaysonforafew
secondswhentheignitionisswitched
ON.IftheTCSorDSC isoperating,the

indicatorlightflashes.
Thismeansthatonaslicksurface,the
engineadjustsautomaticallytoprovide
optimumpowertothedrivewheels
withoutcausingthemtospinandlose
traction.
Ifthelightstayson,theTCS,DSC*orthe
*
brakeassistsystem mayhavea
malfunctionandtheymaynotoperate
correctly.Takeyourvehicletoan

Donotrelyonthetractioncontrol
systemasasubstituteforsafedriving:
Thetractioncontrolsystem(TCS)
cannotcompensateforunsafeand
recklessdriving,excessivespeed,
tailgating(followinganothervehicle
tooclosely),andhydroplaning
(reducedtirefrictionandroad
contactbecauseofwaterontheroad
surface).Youcanstillhavean
accident.
NOTE
Inadditiontotheindicatorlightflashing,a
l
slightluggingsoundwillcomefromthe
engine.Thisindicates thattheTCSis
operating properly.
Onslipperysurfaces,suchasfreshsnow,it
l
willbeimpossible toachievehighrpm
whentheTCSison.
Usesnowtiresanddriveatreduced
speedswhenroadsarecoveredwithice
and/orsnow:
Drivingwithoutpropertraction
devicesonsnowand/orice-covered
roadsisdangerous.Thetraction
controlsystem(TCS)alonecannot
provideadequatetractionandyou
couldstillhaveanaccident.
