Inserttheauxiliarykeyintotheslot
whileitisflashing,butDONOT
TURNTHEAUXILIARYKEYIN
THESLOT.

Afterpressingthepushbuttonstartand
beforetheenginestarts,theoperation
soundoftheheadlight levelingmotors
operating atthefrontoftheengine
compartment canbeheard,however,this
doesnotindicateamalfunction.

Afterstartingtheengine,letitidlefor
abouttenseconds.
NOTE
Whethertheengineiscoldorwarm,it

shouldbestartedwithouttheuseofthe
accelerator.
Afterinsertingtheauxiliarykey,do
notattempttoturnitinthekeyslot.
Itcoulddamagethevehicleorthe
auxiliarykey.
Iftheenginedoesnotstartthefirsttime,
refertoStartingaFloodedEngineunder
EmergencyStarting.Iftheenginestilldoes
notstart,haveyourvehicleinspected byan
Authorized MazdaDealer(page7-13).

Pressthepushbuttonstarttostartthe
engine.
Startingtheengineusingtheauxiliary
key
Iftheenginecannotbestartedforreasons
suchastheadvancedkeybatteryisdead
ortheenginecannotbestartedusingthe
forced-startmethod,theenginecanbe
startedusingtheauxiliarykey.

Slidetheauxiliarykeyoutfromthe
bottomoftheadvancedkey.
2.
Usetheauxiliarykeytoremovethe
keyslotcover.
