Afteranyvehiclecollision,thecombinationlapandshoulderbelt
systematallpassengerseatingpositionsmustbecheckedbya
qualifiedtechniciantoverifythatthe“automaticlockingretractor”
featureforchildseatsisstillfunctioningproperly,inadditiontoother
checksforpropersafetybeltsystemfunction.
BELTANDRETRACTORASSEMBLYMUSTBEREPLACEDif
thesafetybeltassembly“automaticlockingretractor”featureor
anyothersafetybeltfunctionisnotoperatingproperly.Inaddition,all
safetybeltsshouldbecheckedforproperfunction.Failuretoreplace
thebeltandretractorassemblycouldincreasetheriskofinjuryin
collisions.
Safety belt pretensioner
Yourvehicleisequippedwithsafetybeltpretensionersatthedriverand
rightfrontpassengerseatingpositions.
Thesafetybeltpretensionerremovessomeslackfromthesafetybelt
systematthestartofacrash.Thesafetybeltpretensionerusesthe
samecrashsensorsystemasthefrontairbagsandSafetyCanopy
system(ifequipped).Whenthesafetybeltpretensionerdeploys,thelap
andshoulderbeltaretightened.
WhentheoptionalSafetyCanopysystemand/orthefrontairbagsare
activated,thesafetybeltpretensionersforthedriverandrightfront
passengerseatingpositionswillbeactivatedwhentherespectiveseatbelt
isproperlybuckled.
Thedriverandtherightfrontpassengersafetybeltsystem
(includingretractors,bucklesandheightadjusters)mustbe
replacedifthevehicleisinvolvedinacollisionthatresultsin
deploymentoffrontairbagsorSafetyCanopyandsafetybelt
pretensioners.
