Tires, Wheels and Loading
Theinstallationofreplacementtireswithsteelcordbodypliesinthetire
sidewallmaycausemalfunctionoftheTirePressureMonitoringSystem
(TPMS),andisnotrecommended(cordmaterialinformationismolded
onthetiresidewall).Additionally,ifyourvehiclewasoriginallyequipped
withrun-flattires,replacingthemwithtiresthatarenotidenticalto
thoseoriginallyfittedmaycausemalfunctionoftheTPMS,andisnot
recommended.Run-flattiresshouldnotbeusedtoreplaceregulartires.
AlwayscheckyourTPMSindicatorimmediatelyafterreplacingoneor
moretiresonyourvehicle.IftheTPMSindicatorison,yourTPMSis
malfunctioning.Yourreplacementtiremightbeincompatiblewithyour
TPMSsystem,orsomecomponentoftheTPMSsystemmaybedamaged.
Important:Remembertoreplacethesparetirewhenyoureplacethe
roadtiresonyourvehicle.Evenifithasneverbeenused,thesparetire
shouldbereplacedbecausetiresdegradeovertime.

roadwheelsequippedwithtirepressuremonitoringsensorsmustbe
mountedonthevehicle.
IfyourvehicleisequippedwithTPMS,haveaflatservicedbyadealeror
aqualifiedtechnicianinordertopreventdamagetotheTPMSsensor,
refertoChangingtireswithTPMSintheTires,WheelsandLoading
chapter.Replacethesparetirewitharoadtireassoonaspossible.
Theuseoftiresealantsmaydamageyourtires.Theuseoftire
sealantsmayalsodamageyourTirePressureMonitoringSystem
(ifequipped).
