STABILITY ENHANCEMENT SYSTEM (IF  EQUIPPED)
TheAdvanceTrac௡systemprovidesastabilityenhancementfeatureas
wellasatractionenhancementfeature.Ithelpsyourvehiclemaintain
traction,whendrivingonslipperyand/orhillyroadsurfaces,bydetecting
andcontrollingwheelspin.Excessivewheelspiniscontrolledby
momentarilyreducingenginepowerandrapidlyapplyingtheanti-lock
brakes.Thesystemisadriveraidwhichmakesyourvehicleeasierto
handleprimarilyonsnowandice-coveredroads.
Ifyourvehicleshouldbecomestuckindeepsnowormud,tryswitching
theAdvanceTrac௡systemoffbypressingtheAdvanceTrac௡button.This
willallowyourtiresto“dig”fortraction.
IftheAdvanceTrac௡systemisactivatedexcessivelyinashortperiodof
time,thebrakeportionofthesystemwillshutdowntoallowthebrakes
tocooldown.AlimitedAdvanceTrac௡functionusingonlyenginepower
reductionwillstillhelpcontrolthewheelsfromover-spinning.Whenthe
brakeshavecooleddown,thesystemwillagainfunctionnormally.
Anti-lockbrakingisnotaffectedbythisconditionandwillfunction
normallyduringthecool-downperiod.
AdvanceTrac௡enhancesyourvehicle’sstabilityduringmaneuversthat
requireallavailabletiretraction,likeinwet/snowy/icyroadconditions
and/orwhenperformingemergencymaneuvers.Inanemergency
lane-change,thedriverwillexperiencebetteroverallvehicletraction,
andhavebettercontrolofthevehicle.
TheAdvanceTrac௡systemhelpsthedrivermaintainsteeringcontrolif
thevehiclebeginstoslideexcessivelyleftorrightorspinout.
AdvanceTrac௡willattempttocorrecttheslidingmotionbyapplying
brakeforceatindividualtiresand,ifnecessary,byreducingengine
power.
