Whenawheelisinstalled,alwaysremoveanycorrosion,dirtand
foreignmaterialspresentonthemountingsurfacesofthewheel
andthesurfaceofthefrontdiscbrakehubandrotorthatcontactsthe
wheel.Installingwheelswithoutcorrectmetal-to-metalcontactatthe
wheelmountingsurfacescancausethewheelnutstoloosenandthe
wheeltocomeoffwhilethevehicleisinmotion,resultinginlossof
control.
Note:Ifthereiscorrosionontheareawherethewheelcontactsthe
hub,applyathinfilmofgreaseoranti-seizecompoundonthatarea.
INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THE TIRE SIDEWALL
Federallawrequirestiremanufacturerstoplacestandardized
informationonthesidewallofalltires.Thisinformationidentifiesand
describesthefundamentalcharacteristicsofthetireandalsoprovidesa
U.S.DOTTireIdentificationNumberforsafetystandardcertificationand
incaseofarecall.
Information on “P” type tires

rating.Thedefinitionsofthese
itemsarelistedbelow.(Notethat
