ENGINE COOLANT
Checking engine coolant
Theconcentrationandlevelofenginecoolantshouldbecheckedatthe
mileageintervalslistedinscheduledmaintenanceinformation.The
coolantconcentrationshouldbemaintainedat50/50coolantanddistilled
water,whichequatestoafreezepointof-34°F(-36°C).Coolant
concentrationtestingispossiblewithahydrometerorantifreezetester
(suchastheRotundaBatteryandAntifreezeTester,014–R1060).The
levelofcoolantshouldbemaintainedatthe“FULLCOLD”levelor
withinthe“COLDFILLRANGE”inthecoolantreservoir.Ifthelevelfalls
below,addcoolantpertheinstructionsintheAddingenginecoolant
section.
Yourvehiclewasfactory-filledwitha50/50enginecoolantandwater
concentration.Iftheconcentrationofcoolantfallsbelow40%orabove
60%,
