WARNING!
Beforestartingyourvehicle,adjustyourseat,adjustboth
inside and outside mirrors, and fasten your seat belt.
Makesurealloccupantshavesecurelyfastenedtheirseat
belts.
Besuretoturnofftheengineifyouwanttorestor
sleepinyourcar.Accidentscanbecausedbyinad-
vertently moving the gear selection lever or by
pressingtheacceleratorpedal.Thismaycauseexces-
sive heat in the exhaust system, resulting in over-
heatingandvehiclefirewhichmaycauseseriousor
fatalinjuries.
WARNING!
Never leave children alone in a vehicle. Leaving
childreninavehicleunattendedisdangerousfora
number of reasons. A child or others could be
seriouslyorfatallyinjured.Don’tleavethekeysin
theignition.Achildcouldoperatepowerwindows,
othercontrols,ormovethevehicle.

AutomaticTransaxle
The gear selector must be in the PARK or NEUTRAL
positionbeforeyoucanstarttheengine.Applythebrakes
beforeshiftingtoanydrivinggear.
NOTE: Youmustpressthebrakepedalbeforeshifting
outofPark.
NormalStarting
NormalStartingofeitheracoldorawarmenginedoes
notrequirepumpingordepressingtheacceleratorpedal.
Simplyturntheignitionswitchtothe“START”position
andreleasewhentheenginestarts.Iftheenginefailsto
