on the engine oil dipstick will cause oil aeration,
whichcanleadtolossofoilpressureandanincrease
inoiltemperature.Thiscoulddamageyourengine.

followinglisttodecideifanyapplytoyou.

Checkingtheoilwhilethevehicleisonlevelgroundand
onlywhentheengineishot,willimprovetheaccuracyof
theoillevelreadings.Maintaintheoillevelbetweenthe
rangemarkingsonthedipstick.Therangemarkingswill
consist of a crosshatch zone that says SAFE or a cross-
hatchzonethatsays“MIN”atthelowendoftherange
andMAXatthehighendoftherange.Addingonequart
ofoilwhenthereadingisatthelowendoftheindicated
range will result in the oil level at the full end of the
indicatorrange.
