Compass/Temperature Display
CompassVariance
Compass Variance is the difference between Magnetic
North and Geographic North. To ensure compass accu-
racy,thecompassvarianceshouldbeproperlysetaccord-
ing to the variance map for the zone where the vehicle
will be driven. When properly set, the compass will
automaticallyaccountforthisdifference.

NOTE: Magneticandbatterypowereddevices,(suchas
cellphones,IPOD’s,radardetectors,PDA’sandlaptops)
should be kept away from the top of the instrument
panel.Thisiswherethecompassmoduleislocatedand
such devices may interfere and cause false compass
readings.
CompassVarianceMap
ToSettheVariance
Starttheengine,andleavethetransmissionshiftleverin
the PARK position. Press and hold (approximately ten
seconds) the compass/temperature RESET button until
thecurrentvariancezonenumberisdisplayed.Tochange
