PARK,withoutdepressingthebrakepedal.Ifthisoccurs
obtain service from an authorized dealer as soon as
possible.
AUTOSTICKா — IF EQUIPPED
Autostick௡isadriver-interactivetransmissionthatoffers
manualgear-shiftingcapabilitytoprovideyouwithmore
control.Autostick௡allowsyoutomaximizeenginebrak-
ing,eliminateundesirableupshiftsanddownshifts,and
improve overall vehicle performance. This system can
alsoprovideyouwithmorecontrolduringpassing,city
driving, cold slippery conditions, mountain  driving,
trailertowing,andmanyothersituations.
AutomaticTransaxleIgnitionInterlockSystem
Thissystempreventsthekeyfrombeingremovedunless
the shift lever is in PARK and the shift lever knob
pushbuttonisout.Italsopreventsmovingtheshiftlever
outofPARKunlessthekeyisintheACCorONposition,
andthebrakepedalisdepressed.
Operation
NOTE: Ifamalfunctionoccurs,thesystemwilltrapthe
keyintheignitioncylindertowarnyouthatthissafety
feature is inoperable. The engine can be started and
stoppedbutthekeycannotberemoveduntilyouobtain
service.
The Autostick௡ position is just below the OVERDRIVE
positionandisidentifiedbytheword“Autostick”.When
youmovetheshiftleverintotheAutostick௡position,it
canbemovedfromsidetoside.Movingthelevertothe
left(-)triggersadownshiftandtotheright(+)anupshift.
Thegearpositionwillbeshowninthetransmissiongear
display,locatedintheinstrumentcluster.
