ConfirmationofVoiceCommands—IfEquipped
When ON is selected, all voice commands from the
U-Connect system are confirmed. Press and hold the
EVIC button when in this display until ON or OFF
appears,tomakeyourselection.
Agoodcalibrationrequiresalevelsurfaceandanenvi-
ronment free from large metallic objects such as build-
ings,bridges,undergroundcables,railroadtracks,etc.
Calibrate the compass by driving slowly, under 5 mph
(8
km/h) in one or more complete circles in a area free
DisplayEnglishorMetric
TheEVIC,odometer,andnavigationsystemunitscanbe
changedbetweenEnglishandMETRIC.
fromlargemetallicobjects,untiltheCALindicatorinthe
EVICturnsoff.Thecompasswillnowfunctionnormally.
NOTE: Keepallmagneticobjects,suchaslaptopcom-
puters,cellphonesandPDA’s(anythingwithabattery)
awayfromthecompasssensorwhichislocatedinthetop
oftheinstrumentpanel.Thesedevicescaninterferewith
compassaccuracyandperformance.
PressandholdtheEVICbuttonwheninthisdisplayuntil
USorMETRICappears,tomakeyourselection.
AutomaticCompassCalibration
Thecompassonyourvehicleisself-calibrating,eliminat-
ing the need to manually calibrate the compass. When
thevehicleisnew,thecompassmayappearerraticand
the CALindicator message will flash in the EVIC until
thecalibrationiscomplete.
ManualCompassCalibration
Ifthecompassappearstobeinaccurate,youmaywishto
manually calibrate the compass. Prior to calibrating the
compass,makesuretheproperCompassVarianceValue
