VEHICLE SECURITY ALARM SYSTEM — IF
EQUIPPED
The Vehicle SecurityAlarm system monitors the doors,
liftgate,andignitionswitchforunauthorizedoperation.
To Set the Alarm
1.
Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchandgetout
ofthevehicle.

Lockthedoorusingeitherthepowerdoorlockswitch,

Ifsomethingtriggersthealarm,thesystemwillsignalfor
about18minutes.Forthefirstthreeminutesthehornwill
soundandtheheadlights,parklights,taillightsandthe
indicatorlightintheclusterwillflash.Thentheexterior
lightswillflashforanother15minutes.
ortheRemoteKeylessEntry(RKE)transmitter,andclose
alldoors.
3. Theindicatorlightintheinstrumentclusterwillflash
rapidly for 16 seconds. This shows that the Vehicle
SecurityAlarmsystemisarming.Duringthisperiod,ifa
doorisopened,theignitionswitchisturnedON,orthe
powerdoorlocksareunlockedbyeitherthepowerdoor
lock switch or the RKE transmitter, the system will
automatically disarm. After 16 seconds, the indicator
lightwillflashslowly.Thisshowsthatthesystemisfully
armed.
If the monitored system that triggered the alarm is
deactivated,thealarmwillcontinuetosounduntilthree
minutesofalarmtimeisreached.Ifthemonitoredsystem
that triggered the alarm is deactivated, after the alarm
has been on for three minutes the alarm will shut off
immediately.
