Automatic transmission fluid and filter should be
changedasfollows:
Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) is an engineered
productanditsperformancemaybeimpairedbysupple-
mental additives. Therefore, do not add any fluid addi-
tivestothetransaxle.Theonlyexceptiontothispolicyis
theuseofspecialdyestoaidindetectingfluidleaks.In
addition, avoid using transmission sealers as they may
adverselyaffectseals.

thissectionforthecorrectfluidtype.

Police,taxi,limousine,commercialtypeoperation,or
trailertowingwherethevehicleisdrivenregularlyfor
morethan45minutesofcontinuousoperation.
FluidLevelCheck
Refertothe“MaintenanceSchedules”inSection8forthe
propermaintenanceintervals.
Checkthefluidlevelbyremovingthefillplug.Thefluid
levelshouldbebetweenthebottomofthefillholeanda
pointnotmorethat3/16in(4.7mm)belowthebottomof
thehole.
