Look at the shift indicator window on the console to
ensureitisinthePARKposition.
WARNING!
Unintended movement of a vehicle could injure
those in and near the vehicle. As with all vehicles,
you should never exit a vehicle while the engine is
running.Beforeexitingavehicle,youshouldalways
shiftthevehicleintoPARK,removethekeyfromthe
ignition,andapplytheparkingbrake.Oncethekey
isremovedfromtheignition,theshiftleverislocked
in the PARK position, securing the vehicle against
unwantedmovement.Furthermore,youshouldnever
leaveunattendedchildreninsideavehicle.
WhenengagedinPARK,youwillnotbeabletomove
theshiftleverrearwardwithoutdepressingthelever’s
knobbutton.
CAUTION!
BeforemovingtheshiftleveroutofPARK,youmust
turntheignitionfromLOCKtoON,sothesteering
wheel and shift lever are released. Otherwise, dam-
agetothesteeringcolumnorshiftlevercouldresult.
The following indicators should be used to ensure that
youhaveengagedtheshiftleverintothePARKposition:
REVERSE
Shiftintothisrangeonlyafterthevehiclehascometoa
completestop.

When moving the shift lever into PARK, depress the
button on the shift lever knob and firmly move the
leverallthewayforwarduntilitstops.
NEUTRAL
Theenginemaybestartedinthisrange.
