Enable/disable:
Toenable/disablethepowerrunningboardfeature,refertotheMessage
centerinthischapter.

Whenthisfeatureisdisabled(OFF),therunningboardswillmoveto
thestowedpositionregardlessofthepositionofthedoors.
Whenthisfeatureisenabled(AUTOMATIC),therunningboardswill
immediatelymovetothecorrectpositionbasedonthepositionofthe
doors.
Bounce-back:
•
Ifanobjectisinthewayofthemovingrunningboard,therunning
boardwillautomaticallybouncebackinthereversedirectionand
movetotheendoftravel.
Note:Therunningboardsmayoperatemoreslowlyincooler
temperatures.Inadverseconditions,mud,slush,salt,andotherroad
debrismaybecometrappedintherunningboardmechanismpossibly
causingunwantednoise.Ifthisoccursmanuallysettherunningboards
inthedeployedpositionandflushthedebrisfromthefrontandrear
hingesusingahigh-pressurecarwashwand.
Note:Donotusetherunningboards,frontandrearhingeassemblies,
runningboardmotors,ortherunningboardunderbodymountstolift
thevehiclewiththejack,refertoChangingtiresintheRoadside
Emergencieschapter.
WARNING:Inextremeclimates,excessiveicebuildupmay
occur,causingtherunningboardsnottodeploy.Besurethatthe
runningboardshavedeployed,andhavefinishedmovingbefore
attemptingtosteponthem.Note:Therunningboardswillresume
normalfunctiononcetheblockageiscleared.
WARNING:Turnofftherunningboardsbeforeworkingunder
thevehicle,jacking,orplacinganyobjectunderthevehicle.
Neverplaceyourhandinthehingeassemblies.Amovingrunning
boardmaycauseinjury
