TRANSMISSION FLUID
Checking automatic transmission fluid
Theautomatictransmissiondoesnothaveanunderhoodtransmission
fluiddipstick.
Refertoyourscheduledmaintenanceinformationforscheduled
intervalsforfluidchecksandchanges.Yourtransmissiondoesnot
consumefluid.However,thefluidlevelshouldbecheckedifthe
transmissionisnotworkingproperly,(i.e.,ifthetransmissionslipsor
shiftsslowly)orifyounoticesomesignoffluidleakage.
Transmissionfluidshouldbecheckedand,ifrequired,fluid
shouldbeaddedbyanauthorizeddealer.
Donotusesupplementaltransmissionfluidadditives,treatmentsor
cleaningagents.Theuseofthesematerialsmayaffecttransmission
operationandresultindamagetointernaltransmissioncomponents.
TRANSFER CASE FLUID (IF  EQUIPPED)
WARNING:Turnoffthe
powerrunningboards,if
equipped,beforeworkingunder
thevehicle,jackingorplacingany
objectunderthevehicle.Never
placeyourhandbetweenthe
extendedrunningboardandthe
vehicle.Amovingrunningboard
maycauseinjury.

Cleanthefillerplug.
Removethefillerplugandinspectthefluidlevel.
