passengervehicledoesnotrequire
thesymbol,however,theanchor
itselfislocatedinthesamearea.
Followthechildseatmanufacturer’s
instructionstoproperlyinstalla
childseatwithLATCHattachments.
Followtheinstructionsonattachingchildsafetyseatswithtetherstraps.
RefertoAttachingchildsafetyseatswithtetherstrapslaterinthis
chapter.
AttachLATCHlowerattachmentsofthechildseatonlytotheanchors
shown.
PlasticLATCHguidescanbeobtainedfromanauthorizeddealer.They
snapontotheLATCHloweranchorsintheseattohelpattachachild
seatwithrigidattachments.Theguidesholdtheseattrimawayto
exposetheanchorandmakeiteasiertoattachsomechildseats.
WARNING:Neverattachtwochildsafetyseatstothesame
anchor.Inacrash,oneanchormaynotbestrongenoughtohold
twochildsafetyseatattachmentsandmaybreak,causingserious
injuryordeath.
