Othermodulesinyourvehicle—eventdatarecorders—are
capableofcollectingandstoringdataduringacrashornear
crashevent.Therecordedinformationmayassistinthe
investigationofsuchanevent.Themodulesmayrecord
informationaboutboththevehicleandtheoccupants,potentially
includinginformationsuchas:

howvarioussystemsinyourvehiclewereoperating;
whetherornotthedriverandpassengerseatbeltswere
buckled;
•
howfar(ifatall)thedriverwasdepressingtheaccelerator
and/orthebrakepedal;
•

howfastthevehiclewastraveling;and
wherethedriverwaspositioningthesteeringwheel.
Toaccessthisinformation,specialequipmentmustbedirectly
connectedtotherecordingmodules.FordMotorCompanyand
FordofCanadadonotaccesseventdatarecorderinformation
withoutobtainingconsent,unlesspursuanttocourtorderor
whererequiredbylawenforcement,othergovernmentauthorities
orotherthirdpartiesactingwithlawfulauthority.Otherparties
mayseektoaccesstheinformationindependentlyofFordMotor
CompanyandFordofCanada.Pleasenotethatonce911Assist
(ifequipped)isenabled(setON),911Assistmay,throughany
pairedandconnectedcellphone,disclosetoemergencyservices
thatthevehiclehasbeeninacrashinvolvingthedeploymentof
anairbagor,incertainvehicles,theactivationofthefuelpump
shut-off.Certainversionsorupdatesto911Assistmayalsobe
capableofelectronicallyorverballydisclosingto911operators
thevehiclelocation,and/orotherdetailsaboutthevehicleor
crashtoassist911operatorstoprovidethemostappropriate
