Under-inflatedtyreswearmorequicklyandunevenly,causealoss
ofhandlingon-road,areductioninfueleconomyandanincreased
likelihoodoftyrefailure.Over-inflatedtyresgiveaharsherride,
wearunevenlyandaremorepronetodamage.
Checkthepressures(includingthesparewheel)atleasteveryweek
(morefrequentlyifregularlydrivingoff-road),preferablywhenthe
tyresarecold-beawarethatitonlytakes1.6kmofdrivingto
warmupthetyressufficientlytoaffectthetyrepressures.
Airpressurenaturallyincreasesinwarmtyres;ifitisnecessaryto
checkthetyreswhentheyarewarm(afterthevehiclehasbeen
drivenforawhile,evenincoldweather),youshouldexpectthe
pressurestohaveincreasedbetween0.3and0.4bar.Inthis
circumstance,DONOTletairoutofthetyresinordertomatchthe
recommendedpressures.
