Lockingwiththehandset
IMPORTANT
Aimthehandsetatthevehicleandbrieflypressthelockbutton
(PADLOCKsymbol).Ifthedoorslockcorrectly,thehazardwarning
lightswillflashthreetimesandthealarmsystemindicatorlighton
theinstrumentpanelwillstarttoflashrapidly.
Ifpassengersoranimalsare
tobeleftinside,DONOT
superlockthevehicleusing
thehandset-movement
insidethevehiclemay
activateinteriorspace
protection,causingthealarm
tosound.
Eachtimethevehicleislockedusingthehandset,acodedsignalis
transmittedtoareceiverinsidethevehicle,whichactivatesthe
followingsecurityfeatures:

Thecentraldoorlockingsystem(allthedoorlocksare
activated).
’Superlocking’-thedoorlockscannotbeoperatedfrominside
thevehicle.
Theperimetricalarm(protectsthedoor,taildoor,andbonnet
apertures).

Engineimmobilisation
Oncearmed,thealarmwillsoundifanydoorisopened,orifthe
soft-backisraisedorhard-backremovedorif(afterachecking
periodof15seconds)anymovementisdetectedinsidethe
passengercompartment(see’Interiorspaceprotection’).
Mislock
Ifoneofthedoors,taildoororbonnetarenotproperlyclosedwhen
thealarmisarmed,amislockoccurs(thehornwillsounda
warning).Thealarmwillstillbearmedandtheengineimmobilised,
buttheopenaperturewillnotbeprotectedand,unlessitisthe
bonnetthathasbeenleftopen,interiorspaceprotectionwillnot
havebeenactivated.Iftheappropriateapertureisthenclosed,the
alarmwillfullyarmwithouttheneedtopressthelockbuttonagain
unlessitisthedriver’sdoorthatisopen,inwhichcasethealarm
willbefullyarmedbypressingthelockbuttonagain.
Ifthetaildoorglassisleftopenwhenthealarmisarmed,thehorn
willsoundasareminder,butthevehiclewillbelockedandalarmed
asnormal.Thetaildoorglasscanbeclosedfromoutsidethevehicle
usingthestarterkeyinthetaildoor(see’Windows’).
