Ifthevehiclebatteryis
HANDSETBATTERY
Thehandsetbatteryshouldlastforapproximatelythreeyears,
dependentuponuse.Whenthebatteryneedsreplacingitwillbe
apparentfromthefollowingsymptoms:
disconnectedforanyreason
thestatusofthesecurity
systempriortodisconnection
willbememorisedand
automaticallyresetwhenthe
batteryisreconnected.

Thealarmbuzzerandtheanti-theftalarmindicatorlightwill
doublebleep/flasheverysecond,fortenseconds,afterthealarm
isdisarmedanddriver’sdooropened.
However,thehandsetwillneed
toberesynchronised(seeitem
OnlyfitaLandRoverSTC4080oraPanasonicCR2032replacement
battery(availablefromaLandRoverdealer)andadoptthefollowing
replacementprocedure:

Carefullyprisethehandsetapart,startfromthekeyringend
usingacoinorsmallscrewdriver.Avoiddamagingtheseal
betweenthetwohalvesofthecaseandDONOTallowdirtor
moisturetogetinsidethehandset.

Slidethebatteryoutofitsclip,takingcaretoavoidtouchingthe
circuitboardorthecontactsurfacesoftheclip.
Pressandholdeachbuttoninturnforatleastfiveseconds(this
willdrainanyresidualpowerfromthehandset).
Fitthenewbattery,ensuringthatcorrectpolarityismaintained
(’+’
sidefacingup).Fingermarkswilladverselyaffectbattery
life;ifpossible,avoidtouchingtheflatsurfacesofthebattery
andwipethemcleanbeforefitting.

Reassemblethetwohalvesofthehandset.
Toresynchronisethehandset,operateeitherbuttonofthe
handsetatleastfivetimesinquicksuccession(inclose
proximitytothevehicle)orinsertthekey(withhandset
attached)intothestarterswitchandturntoposition’II’.
Thehandsetisnowreadyforuse.
