UNDERSTANDINGYOURINSTRUMENTPANEL
Slightchangesinenginespeedorpowermaybenoticed
when the air conditioning compressor is on. This is a
normal occurrence as the compressor will cycle on and
offtomaintaincomfortandincreasefueleconomy.
ModeControl
The mode control allows you to
choose from several patterns of air
distribution.
NOTE:
If your air conditioning performance seems
lowerthanexpected,checkthefrontoftheaircondition-
ingcondenserforanaccumulationofdirtorinsects.The
air conditioning condenser is located in front of the
radiator.Cleanwithagentlewatersprayfrombehindthe
radiator and through the condenser. Fabric front fascia
protectorsmayreduceairflowtothecondenser,reducing
airconditioningperformance.

Recirculation—AirConditioning
Recirculatedinteriorairiscooledandsent
throughtheinstrumentpanelvents.Upon
initialstartupofthevehicleinveryhotor
humidweather,openwindowsandputin
outsideairmodestoflushhot/humidairout.Then
turnontheRecirculationmodetocoolthevehicle
interiorrapidly.TheRecirculationmodecanalsobe
used to temporarily block out any outside odors,
smoke,ordust.
TemperatureControl
Use this control to regulate the tem-
peratureoftheairinsidethepassenger
compartment. The blue area of the
scale indicates cooler temperatures
while the red area indicates warmer
temperatures.
NOTE: ContinuoususeoftheRecirculationmodemay
maketheinsideairstuffyandundermild,humidcondi-
tionscausewindowstofog.Useofthismodeforlonger
than15minutesisnotrecommended.
