HAZARDWARNINGFLASHER
Ifitisnecessarytoleavethevehicletogoforservice,the
flashersystemwillcontinuetooperatewiththeignition
keyremovedandthevehiclelocked.
NOTE: Withextendeduse,theflashermayweardown
yourbattery.
IFYOURENGINEOVERHEATS
In any of the following situations, you can reduce the
potential for overheating by taking the appropriate ac-
tion.

Onthehighways—Slowdown.
In city traffic — While stopped, put transaxle in
neutral,butdonotincreaseengineidlespeed.
HazardFlasherSwitch
Theflasherswitchisontopofthesteeringcolumn,
justbehindthesteeringwheel.Depresstheswitch
and both cluster indicators and all front and rear direc-
tionalsignalswillflash.Depresstheswitchagaintoturn
HazardWarningFlashersoff.
NOTE: Therearestepsthatyoucantaketoslowdown
animpendingoverheatcondition.Ifyourairconditioner
ison,turnitoff.Theairconditioningsystemaddsheatto
the engine cooling system and turning off the A/C
removes this heat. You can also turn the Temperature
controltomaximumheat,theModecontroltofloor,and
thefancontroltoHigh.Thisallowstheheatercoretoact
asasupplementtotheradiatorandaidsinremovingheat
fromtheenginecoolingsystem.
Do not use this emergency warning system when the
vehicleisinmotion.Useitwhenyourvehicleisdisabled
andiscreatingasafetyhazardforothermotorists.
