AutostickIf the systemmodedetectsand thea problemtransaxleitwillwillreturndisableto thethe
automaticmodeuntiltheproblemiscorrected.
The transaxle will automatically upshift from first to
second gear and from second to third gear when
enginespeedreachesabout6300RPM.
FUELREQUIREMENTS
Yourvehicleisdesignedtomeetallemis-
sionregulationsandprovideexcellentfuel
economywhenusinghighqualityregular
unleadedgasolinewithanoctaneratingof
Downshifts from third to second gear above 66 mph
(106
km/h) and from second to first gear above 37
mph(60km/h)willbeignored.
Youcanstartoutinfirst,second,orthirdgear.Shifting
into fourth gear can occur only after vehicle speed
reaches15mph(24km/h).

The use of premium gasoline is not
recommended.Theuseofpremiumgaso-
line will provide no benefit over high quality regular
gasolines, and in some circumstances, may result in
poorerperformance.
The transaxle will automatically downshift to first
gearwhencomingtoastop.
SparkKnock
Starting out in third gear is helpful in snowy or icy
conditions.
Lightsparkknockatlowenginespeedsisnotharmfulto
yourengine.However,continuedheavysparkknockat
highspeedscancausedamageandimmediateserviceis
required.
WhileintheAutostickmode,SpeedControlwillonly
function in third or fourth gear. Downshifting out of
thirdgearturnsoffspeedcontrol.
If the system detects powertrain overheating, the
transaxle will revert to the automatic shift mode and
remaininthatmodeuntilthepowertraincoolsoff.
