External racks do not increase the total load carrying
capacity of the vehicle. Be sure that the total occupant
and luggage load insid e the vehicle, plus the load on the
luggage rack, do not exceed the rated vehicle capacity as
show n on the label attached to the drivers door shu t face.

not exceed the maximum roof rack load capacity
of150lbs(68kg)or65lbs(29.5kg)onRenegade
models.Alwaysdistributeheavyloadsasevenly
aspossibleandsecuretheloadappropriately.

Long loads which extend over the windshield,
such as wood panels or surfboards, should be
securedtoboththefrontandrearofthevehicle.

Place a blanket or other protection between the
surfaceoftheroofandtheload.
Travelatreducedspeedsandturncornerscarefully
whencarryinglargeorheavyloadsontheroofrack.
Windforces,duetonaturalcausesornearbytruck
traffic,canaddsuddenupwardloads.Thisisespe-
cially true on large flat loads and may result in
damagetothecargooryourvehicle.
