The Side Impact SRS Window Bags are designed to
activate only in certain side collisions. When the ORC
(with side impact option) detects a collision requ iring
the wind ow bags to inflate, it signals the inflators on
the crash side of the vehicle. A quantity of nontoxic gas
is generated to inflate the wind ow bag. The inflating
wind ow bag pushes the outsid e edge of the head liner
out of the way and covers the wind ow. The airbag
inflates in abou t 30 millisecond s (abou t one quarter of
the time it takes to blink you r eyes) with enou gh force
to injure you if you are not belted and seated prop erly,
or if item s are positioned in the area where the

seat cushion. Occupants shou ld try to rem ain in a
norm ally seated position. If the occupant’s weight is
transferred to another object in the vehicle (i.e. feet on
the dashboard ), the OCS may not be able to prop erly
approxim ate occupant size. Furtherm ore, the occupant
size may appear to increase or decrease due to objects
hanging on the seat, other passengers pushing on the
seat, or objects lodged und erneath the seat. If there is
a rap id change in tem peratu re or hu midity, the OCS
may not be able to prop erly approxim ate occupant
size. If you r seat inclu ding you r trim cover and
cushion need s to be serviced in any way, take the
vehicle to you r authorized dealer. Only manu factu rer
approved seat accessories may be used .
