Seating and Safety Restraints
WARNING:Failuretoreplacebothfrontrestraintsunderthe
aboveconditionscouldresultinseverepersonalinjuriesinthe
eventofacollision.Theseatbeltpretensionerswillonlyfunctiononce.
Aftertheyaredeployed,theywillnotworkagainandmustbereplaced
immediately,eveniftherewasnofrontseatoccupantseatedatthe
time.
WARNING:Modifyingthecomponentsorwiringofthe
pretensionersystem,includingtheuseofelectronictesting
devicesisdangerous.Youcouldaccidentallyactivateitormakeit
inoperablewhichwouldpreventitfromactivatinginanaccident.Front
occupantscouldbeseriouslyinjured.Nevermodifythecomponentsor
wiring,oruseelectronictestingdevicesonthepretensionersystem.
WARNING:Improperdisposalofthepretensionersystemora
vehiclewithnon-deactivatedpretensionersisdangerous.Unless
allsafetyproceduresarefollowed,injurycouldresult.Askan
authorizedMazdadealerhowtosafelydisposeofthepretensioner
systemorhowtoscrapafrontpretensioner-equippedvehicle.

Seat belt extension assembly
Iftheseatbeltistooshortwhenfullyextended,a9inch(23cm)or
12
inch(31cm)seatbeltextensionassemblycanbeadded(part
numbers611C22–Aand611C22–Brespectively).Seatbeltextension
assembliescanbeobtainedfromyourauthorizedMazdadealership.
Useonlyextensionsmanufacturedbythesamesupplierastheseatbelt.
Manufactureridentificationislocatedattheendofthewebbingonthe
label.Also,usetheseatbeltextensiononlyiftheseatbeltistooshort
foryouwhenfullyextended.
Whenyouarenotusingtheextensionsstoretheminanotherlocationso
thatnoonewillaccidentallyusethem.
NOTE:Donotuseextensionstochangethefitoftheshoulderbelt
acrossthetorso.
Seat belt warning light and indicator chime
Theseatbeltwarninglightilluminatesintheinstrumentclusteranda
chimesoundstoremindtheoccupantstofastentheirseatbelts.
