removelooseparticlesbywiping
withcleanragandapplygrease.
Applygreaseonlytothewheelpilot
holesurfacebysmearinga“dime”
(1
squarecm)sizedglobofgrease
aroundthewheelpilotsurface(1)
withendoffinger.DONOTapply
greasetolugnut/studholesor
wheel-to-brakesurfaces.
OVERHEATING
Ifthetemperaturegaugeindicatesoverheatingandyouexperience
powerloss,youhearaloudknockingorpingingnoise,theengineis
probablytoohot.
Ifthishappens:
1.
2.
Drivesafelytothesideoftheroadandparkofftheright-of-way.
ShifttheautomatictransmissionintoP(Park)orthemanual
transmissionintotheneutralposition,andapplytheparkingbrake.
3.
Turnofftheairconditioner.
WARNING:Steamfromanoverheatedengineisdangerous.The
escapingsteamcouldseriouslyburnyou.OpenthehoodONLY
aftersteamisnolongerescapingfromtheengine.
4.
Checkwhethercoolantorsteamisescapingfromunderthehoodor
fromtheenginecompartment.
•
Ifsteamiscomingfromtheenginecompartment:donotgonear
thefrontofthevehicle.Stoptheengine,thenturntheignitionswitch
totheONpositionwithoutstartingtheengine.Theradiatorcooling
fanswillstarttocooltheengine.
•
Ifneithercoolantnorsteamisescaping:openthehoodandidle
theengineuntilitcools.Ifthisdoesnotlowerthetemperature,stop
theengineandletitcool.
5.
Checkthecoolantlevel.Ifitislow,lookforleaksintheradiator
hosesandconnections,heaterhosesandconnections,radiatorand
waterpump.
Ifyoufindaleakorotherdamage,orifcoolantisstillleaking,stopthe
engineandcallanauthorizeddealer.
