Theuseofanimpropercoolantmayharmengineandcooling
systemcomponentsandmayvoidthewarrantyofyourvehicle’s
enginecoolingsystem.Ifyouareunsurewhichtypeofcoolant
yourvehiclerequires,contactyourlocalauthorizeddealer.
WARNING:Donotputenginecoolantinthewindshieldwasher
fluidreservoir.Ifenginecoolantissprayedontothewindshield,
itcouldmakeitdifficulttoseethroughthewindshield.
Whenaddingcoolant,makesureitisa50/50mixtureofenginecoolant
anddistilledwater.Addthemixturetothecoolantreservoir,whenthe
engineiscool,untiltheappropriatefilllevelisobtained.

NEVERincreasethecoolantconcentrationabove60%.
NEVERdecreasethecoolantconcentrationbelow40%.
Enginecoolantconcentrationsabove60%orbelow40%will
decreasethefreezeprotectioncharacteristicsoftheengine
coolantandmaycauseenginedamage.
Alargeamountofwaterwithoutenginecoolantmaybeadded,incaseof
emergency,toreachavehicleservicelocation.Inthisinstance,the
coolingsystemmustbedrainedandrefilledwitha50/50mixtureof
enginecoolantanddistilledwaterassoonaspossible.Wateralone
(withoutenginecoolant)cancauseenginedamagefromcorrosion,
overheatingorfreezing.
Forvehicleswithoverflowcoolantsystemswithanon-pressurizedcap
onthecoolantrecoverysystem,addcoolanttothecoolantrecovery
reservoirwhentheengineiscool.Addthepropermixtureofcoolantand
watertothe“COLDFILLRANGE”.Forallothervehicles,whichhavea
coolantdegassystemwithapressurizedcap,orifitisnecessaryto
removethecoolantpressurereliefcapontheradiatorofavehiclewith
anoverflowsystem,followthesestepstoaddenginecoolant.
Note:Whenaddingmorethan1quart(.95L)ofcoolant,itisnecessary
tousethecoolantbleedvalve.Failuretobleedthecoolingsystemwhen
addingenginecoolantmaycauseenginedamage.RefertotheCooling
sectionoftheWorkshopManual.
WARNING:Toreducetheriskofpersonalinjury,makesurethe
engineiscoolbeforeunscrewingthecoolantpressurereliefcap.
Thecoolingsystemisunderpressure;steamandhotliquidcancome
outforcefullywhenthecapisloosenedslightly.
