DuringTrailerSwayControleventsthe
iconintheinstrumentcluster
willflashmomentarily.Insomecaseswhentrailerswayisdetected,the
vehiclespeedistoohighandmaybeatoraboveaspeedatwhichtrailer
swaywillgrowcontinuously.Thismaycausethesystemtoactivate
multipletimes,causingagradualreductioninspeed.
DisablingTrailerSwayControl
Trailerswaycontrolcanbedisabledduringanykeycycle.Pressingand
holdingtheElectronicStabilityControlbuttonformorethanfive
secondswilldisabletheTrailerSwayControlfeatureandthe
iconwill
flashmomentarilyandthenilluminatesolidforthatignitioncycle.Trailer
SwayControlcanbere-enabledbymomentarilypressingtheElectronic
StabilityControlbutton.TrailerSwayControlwillalsobere-enabledat
eachnewkeycycle.
WARNING:TurningoffTrailerSwayControlincreasestherisk
oflossofvehiclecontrol,seriousinjury,ordeath.Mazdadoes
notrecommenddisablingthisfeatureexceptinsituationswherespeed
reductionmaybedetrimental(e.g.,hillclimbing),thedriverhas
significanttrailertowingexperience,andcancontroltrailerswayand
maintainsafeoperation.
STEERING
YourvehicleisequippedwithanElectricPower-AssistedSteering
(EPAS)system.Thereisnofluidreservoirtocheckorfill.
Ifyourvehicleloseselectricalpowerwhileyouaredriving(orifthe
ignitionisturnedoff),youcansteerthevehiclemanually,butittakes
moreeffort.Underextremeusageconditions,thesteeringeffortmay
increase.Thisoccurstopreventoverheatingandpermanentdamageto
yoursteeringsystem.Ifthisshouldoccur,youwillneitherlosetheability
tosteerthevehiclemanuallynorwillitcausepermanentdamage.
Typicalsteeringanddrivingmaneuverswillallowthesystemtocooland
steeringassistwillreturntonormal.
