ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) SYSTEM
WARNING:Vehiclemodificationsinvolvingbrakingsystem,
aftermarketroofracks,suspension,steeringsystem,tire
constructionand/orwheel/tiresizemaychangethehandling
characteristicsofthevehicleandmayadverselyaffectthethe
performanceoftheElectronicStabilityControlsystem.Inaddition,
installinganystereoloudspeakersmayinterferewithandadversely
affecttheElectronicStabilityControlsystem.Installanyaftermarket
stereoloudspeakerasfaraspossiblefromthefrontcenterconsole,the
tunnel,andthefrontseatsinordertominimizetheriskofinterfering
withtheElectronicStabilityControlsensors.Reducingthe
effectivenessoftheElectronicStabilityControlsystemcouldleadtoan
increasedriskoflossofvehiclecontrol,vehiclerollover,personalinjury
anddeath.
WARNING:Rememberthatevenadvancedtechnologycannot
defythelawsofphysics.It’salwayspossibletolosecontrolofa
vehicleduetoinappropriatedriverinputfortheconditions.Aggressive
drivingonanyroadconditioncancauseyoutolosecontrolofyour
vehicleincreasingtheriskofpersonalinjuryorpropertydamage.
ActivationoftheElectronicStabilityControlsystemisanindication
thatatleastsomeofthetireshaveexceededtheirabilitytogripthe
road;thiscouldreducetheoperator’sabilitytocontrolthevehicle,
potentiallyresultinginalossofvehiclecontrol,vehiclerollover,
personalinjuryanddeath.IfyourElectronicStabilityControlsystem
activates,SLOWDOWN.
WARNING:IfafailurehasbeendetectedwithintheElectronic
StabilityControlsystem,theЉslidingcarЉicon
willilluminate
steadily.VerifythattheElectronicStabilityControlsystemisnot
manuallydisabled(pushtheElectronicStabilityControl“Off“button
locatedonthecenteroftheinstrumentpanel).IftheЉslidingcarЉ
icon
stillilluminatessteadily,havethesystemservicebyan
authorizeddealerimmediately.OperatingyourvehiclewithElectronic
StabilityControldisabledcouldleadtoanincreasedriskoflossof
vehiclecontrol,vehiclerollover,personalinjuryanddeath.
