TheLATCHsystemiscomposedofthreevehicleanchorpoints:two(2)
loweranchorslocatedwherethevehicleseatbackandseatcushionmeet
(calledthe“seatbight”)andone(1)toptetheranchorlocatedbehind
thatseatingposition.
LATCHcompatiblechildsafetyseatshavetworigidorwebbingmounted
attachmentsthatconnecttothetwoloweranchorsattheLATCH
equippedseatingpositionsinyourvehicle.Thistypeofattachment
methodeliminatestheneedtouseseatbeltstoattachthechildseat,
howevertheseatbeltcanstillbeusedtoattachthechildseat.For
forward-facingchildseats,thetoptetherstrapmustalsobeattachedto
thepropertoptetheranchor,ifatoptetherstraphasbeenprovided
withyourchildseat.MazdaMotorCorporationrecommendstheuseofa
childsafetyseathavingatoptetherstrap.SeeAttachingchildsafety
