sectionintheInstrumentclusterchapter.Routinemaintenanceofthe
airbagisnotrequired.
Adifficultywiththesystemisindicatedbyoneormoreofthefollowing:

Thereadinesslight(samelightasforfrontairbagsystem)willeither
flashorstaylit.
Thereadinesslightwillnotilluminateimmediatelyafterignitionis
turnedon.
Aseriesoffivebeepsoundswillbeheard.Thetonepatternwill
repeatperiodicallyuntiltheproblemandlightarerepaired.
Ifanyofthesethingshappen,evenintermittently,havetheSRSserviced
atyourauthorizedMazdadealershipimmediately.Unlessserviced,the
systemmaynotfunctionproperlyintheeventofacollision.
S.O.S. Post Crash Alert
TheS.O.SPostCrashAlertautomaticallyflashestheturnsignallamps
andsoundsthehornthreetimesatfoursecondintervalsintheeventof
aseriousimpactthatdeploysanairbag(front,side,sidecurtainor
SafetyCanopy)ortheseatbeltpretensioners.
TheS.O.S.PostCrashAlertcanbeturnedoffwhenanyoneofthe
followingactionsaretakenbythedriveroranyotherperson:

pressingthehazardcontrolbutton,
orpressingthepanicbuttonontheremotekeyfob.
Thefeaturewillcontinuetooperateuntilthevehiclerunsoutofpower.
Disposal of airbags and airbag equipped vehicles
Fordisposalofseatbeltpretensioners,airbags,orairbagequipped
vehicles,seeyourauthorizedMazdadealership.AirbagsMUSTBE
disposedofbyqualifiedpersonnel.
WARNING:Disposingofanairbagcanbedangerous.Unlessall
safetyproceduresarefollowed,injurycanresult.Askan
AuthorizedMazdadealerhowtosafelydisposeofanairbagorhowto
scrapanairbagequippedvehicle.
